Maren can be described as a calm and observant person by her peers and carries a quiet confidence. She is compassionate but can come across as guarded. Because of her powers, others may find her off-putting and even a bit unsettling in a way that can almost feel captivating.

Biography

Maren Stone's mutation remained largely dormant throughout her childhood, manifesting only through unusually vivid dreams and frequent episodes of sleepwalking. Around the age of thirteen, she discovered she could leave her body while asleep, wandering a strange, dreamlike place she believed existed only within her imagination. She had no understanding that what she was actually exploring was the Astral Plane or that as a child the gravity of such navigation of the realm.One night, while venturing farther into the Astral Plane than ever before, Maren felt something she had never encountered. What had always been a place of quiet escape for her suddenly became hostile. She sensed an unfamiliar presence becoming aware of her, something even after years of trying to recall and track down she still has no real idea of. Before she could retreat, she felt it force itself toward the opening she had unknowingly created between the Astral Plane and the physical world. In the overwhelming panic that followed, Maren was thrown back into her body. She awoke to find her home in chaos and her parents dead, the trauma manifesting her telepathic abilities fully in a violent flurry that left her unconscious until authorities were called to the disturbance.Following the incident, Charles Xavier became aware of Maren's mutation and offered her a place at Xavier's School for Gifted Youngsters. Though she found purpose among fellow mutants, she never fully escaped the fear that her mutation could one day hurt the people closest to her. As an adult, Maren chose to leave the school on good terms and now performs at a theatre within New York City called The Veil, posing herself simply as a well known mentalist and illusionist.
